Linda Blair

Linda Linda LindaFrom the age of just five Linda Blair had to get used to public attention, initially as model for children and later as an actress, when out of 600 applicants she was selected for the role in the role of Regan who was the child who had been possessed and actress as seen in The Exorcist (1973). Linda rapidly gained worldwide fame, was awarded the Golden Globe, and seemed to be set to take the Academy Award for that role however, when the film's leaks revealed about the fact that some aspects of the character were not performed by Linda Blair (the demonic voice was dubbed with Mercedes McCambridge, and eight seconds of a stunt model were used) that dream broke, and with that disappointment was probably the initial blow in what seemed to be the beginning of an A-list career. The following years saw she was in a position to get lead roles in an array of motion pictures. The most notable of these were the television series Born Innocent and Sarah T. - Portrait of a Teenage Alcoholic in addition to Exorcist II - The Heretic. After she snagged cocaine due to the pressure of her peers at 18, it led to the arrest of her and three years' probation. Linda was blacklisted by Hollywood after the highly-publicized drug bust. Her acting career was soon restricted to B movies and guest TV appearances.
